When looking for fonts, I began by flipping through the Typography book when two different fonts caught my eye. The first one was Cheltenhm BT, a (variation) of the serif font found on page 304 of the book which I particularly liked. The font had a kind of modern, formal look to it that it reminded me of business attire with some modern embellishments. The ears of the letter “g”, spur of the uppercase “G”, teardrop terminal of the “a”, “f” and “r”, along with sweeping tail of “Q” and descender of “y” gave this font a more decorative look. Its style is serious but fancy at the same with these decorative features at the end of the letters. If I were to compare it so something, Cheltenhm BT would resemble Burberry. I feel this way because the logo is also serif and has decorative tails on the “R” letters of its name, but more so for the style of clothing. Their clothing can used everyday but its business style along with the label’s use of colors and lace give it more style than regular business attire.

As for the the second font I found was on page 286 of the book, Futura Condensed Extra Bold. What I liked about this font style was its similarity in letters and boldness to stand out from the page. Its look is also modern, but the font has a kind of playful and energetic feeling to it instead of Cheltenhm BT’s modern business look. The letters are very straight cut with minimal curves, as seen with the letter “j” which does not curl but ends on the descender line as a straight line. Compared to clothing, Futura Condensed Extra Bold reminds me of the zumiez brand of clothing. I see Futura Condensed Extra Bold like this because the font is bold and lively that it captures the eyes attention right off the page, likewise is the clothing style. For zumiez clothing is bright and colorful with various prints on leggings, shoes, graphic tee's and lots of skater merchandise that is seem to be the perfect bit, and energizing and sporty font that stands out from the crowd.
